What is jeff ruland?

Jeff Ruland is a retired professional basketball player who played in the NBA for the Washington Bullets and Philadelphia 76ers. He was born on December 16, 1958 in Yonkers, New York. Ruland was a standout player in college, playing for Iona College and earning the nickname "McFilthy" for his aggressive style of play.

Ruland was selected by the Golden State Warriors in the 2nd round of the 1980 NBA Draft, but was immediately traded to the Washington Bullets. He had a successful career with the Bullets, earning two All-Star appearances and being named to the NBA All-Rookie Team in 1982.

Injuries plagued Ruland's career, and he was forced to retire in 1993 after multiple surgeries on his knees. Despite his struggles with injuries, Ruland was known for his toughness and physical style of play on the court.

After retiring as a player, Ruland went on to have a successful coaching career, serving as an assistant coach for several collegiate and professional teams. He later became the head coach of the Iona College men's basketball team, the same school where he had played college basketball.
